The O-Shot is a life (and relationship) changing treatment. During this in-office procedure, we use a specially prepared version of your own blood cells (Platelet Rich Plasma) to rejuvenate vaginal tissue.
It results in:
More frequent (and often stronger) orgasms
Less pain with intercourse
Resolution of incontinence
Only one treatment is needed, and the results last about 15-18 months.
We use a local anesthetic for comfort and the results are apparent starting about 3 weeks after the procedure. Of course, individual results vary.
For many women, this procedure is life altering because it addresses the body tissue part of sexuality that counseling and hormone therapy cannot. These three aspects work in tandem, and often a boost in one of two of these areas can start to improve the others. For example, if a couple feels less close because the woman has lost interest in sex, the increased sexual response can increase her libido. Increased sexual activity actually helps to alter your hormones.
We also assess for hormone status, relationship issues, and other factors that may be involved with sexual response, treating these issues as needed. Dr. Winkelman’s MA in Counseling Psychology (in addition to her medical degree) makes her a perfect match for treating what can be a complex problem.
Since sexuality is an important part of a woman’s vitality, and even creativity, restoring sexual pleasure and appetite can return a piece of herself to a woman that is very precious.
“I noticed within about three weeks that my orgasms were more regular, stronger, and longer than they had been in years! Also, the incontinence that began after my children were born is gone. Thank you, Dr. Christie!”
How it works:
We draw your blood, and spin it down in a special way that separates the plasma from the serum. The result is a very concentrated version of your plasma (PRP). We then inject the PRP into your body at certain sites that have been shown in thousands of patients before you to stimulate the female orgasm system and reduce or eliminate incontinence.
The O-Shot stimulates stem cell growth within your vaginal and clitoral tissue, leading to regeneration of the tissue, as well as greater blood flow to the area. Together, these result in increased sensation. We can also include the labia, if there is atrophy (shrinkage) present. The local anesthetic makes the procedure comfortable.
How long is the procedure?
About 60 minutes start to finish, which includes drawing your blood. We schedule an assessment visit prior to the procedure, so that Dr. Winkelman can make sure you are a good candidate for the procedure, and ascertain any other aspects such as hormones or relationship issues, that may need to be addressed to meet your goals for treatment. Often, the assessment visit can be billed to your insurance.
